I am of the view that terracotta tiles are among the most underrated flooring materials. Beyond their aesthetic appeal — which is, of course, subjective — they offer a number of practical advantages.

Terracotta tiles act as natural thermal regulators, helping to smooth out temperature fluctuations: they keep interiors cooler in warm weather and retain warmth during colder periods.

They can also be sanded and restored, are largely timeless rather than trend-driven, and, in my opinion, can increase a property’s value.
